Dr Małgorzata Zakrzewska-Grünwald serves as the Principal of the School of Law, Management and International Studies HITAS Doula in Cameroon. She is also an assistant professor at the Institute of Economics and Finance of the University of Szczecin (where she received the Rector’s award for outstanding academic achievements). She is a visiting professor at the University of Vigo (Spain) and the Hochschule Wismar (Germany), and a lecturer at the Indo-German International Excellence Programme (IEP).

She boasts extensive teaching and research experience in the field of socio-economic development that she gained in the international arena. She has led international project activities associated with social initiatives, social as well as and electoral and social participation. She participates in international academic collaborations devoted to the topics of social capital as a determinant of entrepreneurship, soft skills and transferable skills.

Dr Zakrzewska-Grünwald has received numerous scholarships (European Forum Alpbach of the Santander IE Foundation) and awards: she was the runner-up and then the champion in the competition for the best Young Researcher of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Szczecin, she was also a laureate in the TOP 500 Transformation.Doc programme.

She also received the Prime Minister’s Award for an outstanding dissertation in the field of economics and finance. Dissertation title: ‘The essence of social capital as a determinant of economic development as exemplified by poviats in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship.’

Dr Zakrzewska-Grünwald has gained prominence as the author of monographs and academic papers as well as scripts, online courses and an academic podcast on social capital and transferable competences.

Of equal importance are Dr Zakrzewska-Grünwald’s social activities. As a Class II judge of sailing, she is involved in sailing projects and events in the Zachodniopomorskieregion. Since December 2022, she has been a member of the Women’s Sports Commission of the Polish Yachting Association (currently, the Commission for Diversity, Equality and Integration of the Polish Yachting Association); a member of Amnesty International and the Polish Society for International Relations. For her social work for the University Sports Association of Poland and for her successes in sports, she received the Zenon Pietrasik Prize for the best sports activist. She was also awarded the Silver Medal of the General Board of the University Sports Association of Poland for her contributions to academic sport and physical culture.
