Maria Krawczyńska-Kaczmarek

Leader, expert, manager, enthusiast, trainer and lecturer with over 10 years of experience in the practice of sustainable development, CSR, ESG and sustainable finance. Professionally, she is involved with the Association of Responsible Business Forum, where from June 2024 to April 2025, as President of the Forum’s Management Board, she oversaw the substantive development of the Forum and the implementation of the organisation’s strategic goals and priorities, while from August 2023 to March 2024, in her role as the General Director, she was responsible for the development, transformation as well as project and team management at the Forum. In addition, she also serves as Director, Sustainability and Reputational Risk at Standard Chartered Bank. She is currently on maternity leave.
She is actively involved in developing and promoting sustainability topics in local and international projects. She was the winner of the ‘Female Leader in Sustainability Education’ award granted by the Forbes Polska magazine in 2024.
Since March 2024, she has been a member of the EFRAG Banking Advisory Panel, an advisory body supporting the preparation of sector-specific ESRSs. Previously, from 2021 to 2023, as part of EFRAG, she was a member of the Working Group on the development of a single sustainability reporting standard (ESRS) for the EU (in compliance with CSRD).
Member of Working Groups in the Platform on Sustainable Finance at the Ministry of Finance. Member of the ESG Committee of the National Chamber of Commerce and the ESG Innovators Council of the Polish ESG Association. Member of the Association for Sustainable Agriculture & Food in Poland.
Lecturer and trainer at Lazarski University, Warsaw School of Economics, Polish Chamber of Statutory Auditors, GPW Growth Academy, ESG School, Compliance Institute, EY Academy of Business, among others. Juror in The Best Annual Report competition of the Institute of Accounting and Taxes.
From 2017 to 2023, she was responsible for managing and implementing the Sustainable Development Strategy of BNP Paribas Bank, creating the Sustainability area in the bank, introducing integrated reporting as well as for developing the Sustainable finance area and creating the first in Poland competence centre for the structuring of sustainable products. She was also the initiator of the ‘Bank of Green Changes’ programme. Member of the Board of the BNP Paribas Foundation.
Privately, Maria is actively involved in the community, a firm believer in the synergy of business and social goals, with the motto ‘human being first and foremost.’
