Marcin Tchórzewski always knew that his professional life would combine two of his passions: education and IT. Together with his brother, Jacek Tchórzewski, he opened Coders Lab, the first Polish coding bootcamp. As an SGH graduate and young entrepreneur, he demonstrated perseverance and regularity in building a company that blazed the trail in the education market. Coders Lab introduced an innovative teaching method, which had no equal on the Polish market when it first appeared. The key to the start-up’s success was continuously improving the courses and regularly raising the quality of teaching. The regular expansion contributed to developing a business model that matches market demand perfectly.

The dynamic growth of the company was achieved also due to winning the esteem of potential course participants, software developers and IT companies, and convincing them that, contrary to popular belief, it is possible to learn programming in just a few weeks and start working in the industry. In 2018, the company attracted a minority investor, Grupa Pracuj, now its partner of two years in developing the professional education market in Poland. Led by Marcin Tchórzewski, in a mere 7 years the enterprise became a modern vocational school educating professionals in the technology industry. The company has branches in five Polish cities and four cities outside Poland, in Romania, Indonesia, Austria and Spain. Until the end of 2020, the school educated more than 6,500 software developers, testers and analysts, and connected them with companies looking for IT talents.

In early 2017, Marcin sparked the initiative to establish the “Możesz ITy” foundation to allow wards of children’s homes and young adults in difficult life circumstances to start a well-paid career in IT. The programme rested on two foundations: the Coders Lab programming course and workshops on soft skills. The Foundation helped more than 50 wards to change their lives and launch a career in the IT industry.

Despite his solid position in the world of business, Marcin Tchórzewski is not afraid of taking risks and gets involved in supporting projects at the early stage of their development. As an investor, he successfully implements business development plans, sharing his knowledge and experience. In 2020, he invested in Jutro Medial, a start-up responding to the challenges of healthcare and dealing with the medicine of the future that combines telehealth services with a modern primary health centre. Another start-up whose development Marcin decided to become involved in is Listny Cud, a company pursuing modern and organic plant farming on vertical farms. All these companies have missions that are fully aligned with Marcin’s values and interests.

Marcin is also a lecturer in the PFR programme (Mentor Network and Pioneer School) for start-ups and new companies. As part of his mentoring, he cooperated and shared his know-how with the Blazity start-up. For successfully combining an educational mission with business objectives, he was awarded the Auler prize in 2018.
